MAHBUBNAGAR: BJP national president Amit Shah heralding the battle readiness of the party in Telangana state was acknowleged by enthusiastic crowds at the MSV College ground at Mahbubnagar on Saturday. Mr Shah, in his inimitable style, sought the help to strengthen the BJP and 'Modi sarkar', and received resounding support.

The BJP chief spoke of the need to stamp out Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators, uphold the self-pride of the Telangana people and the belittling of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and former chief minister T. Anjaiah in the past. All these were acknowledged by the audience.

About 50,000 people had gathered at the venue, about 85 km from Hyderabad, to hear Mr Shah sound the poll bugle for the Telangana state elections. A long line of vehicles was stranded right from Boothpur on the national highway towards Bengaluru. BJP cadre enthused by the turnout exuded confidence that the party would do well in the elections.
