Vanteru Pratap Reddy offers Congress tickets to K Chandrasekhar Rao, T Harish Rao
Hyderabad: Mr Vanteru Pratap Reddy, who contested against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Gajwel constituency in 2014, has rejected rumours that he was planning to join the TRS. Mr Pratap Reddy, who left the TD and joined the Congress only a few months ago, said some unethical politicians in the TRS were spreading these rumours. He also offered Congress tickets to Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr T. Harish Rao.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Mr Pratap Reddy levelled several allegations against the TRS. He said, “The early elections are a burden on the state and this will cost'3,200 crore to the exchequer. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao fears of defeat if elections are held according to the schedule. In all these years of the TRS government, they could not complete even a single irrigation project. We are ready for an open debate on the corruption and the developments works carried out by TRS government at Tank Bund.
The Chief Minister always spends his time either at Pragathi Bhavan or at his farmhouse. He does not bother about the secretariat, the Assembly or the public.” He added, “Mr Chandrasekhar Rao is worried about the alliance of the Opposition. Hasn't he gone for alliances with the Congress and the TD? The government is intentionally booking cases against Congress leaders. Mr KCR is a Gulf agent. Can he, Mr T. Harish Rao and Ms K. Kavitha reveal the list of their assets comparing to what they had in 2001? Some unethical politicians from the TRS are intentionally misguiding the media that I am going to join the TRS, so that the Congress refuses ticket to me. We are ready to give tickets to Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Harish Rao too, if they are ready to join the Congress.”
