Dalits seek Andhra Pradesh help
Guntur: The Dalit Industrial Association sought the cooperation of state government towards development of Dalits as industrialists and entrepreneurs in AP. Minister for excise K.S. Jawahar met Dalit MLAs in his chamber at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The DIA spoke about the poor presence of Dalits in the industrial sector due to lack of capacity to invest. The Association sought the government to uplift Dalits through various welfare schemes. DIA national president M. Sudarshan lamented that lack of proper cooperation from the government departments was preventing Dalits from becoming entrepreneurs and industrialists.
He said many Dalits were interested to become industrialists, which would provide employment to many people, and sought the government to offer proper training in skill development and also to provide financial assistancee to the enthusiastic Dalits. Mr Sudarshan wanted the government to ensure the presence of DIA in various committees, including that of the bankers and industrial promotion. Mr Jawahar said that CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has been working for the welfare and development of Dalits through numerous welfare schemes. He assured Dalits of providing financial assistance to interested youth.
Dalit MLAs V. Anitha. P. David Raju, B. Chiranjeevulu, T. Sowmya, MLC Dokka Manikyavaraprasada Rao and others were present at the meeting asserted on the need of Dalit youth turning as industrialists and entrepreneurs in the present society making good use of opportunities.
