False' Election Promises of Naidu and His Foster Son Not to Sway Voters: CM Jagan
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy came down heavily against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday and said they were misleading the people with false pre-election promises.
"As the elections draw near, Chandrababu is forming an unholy alliance with his adopted son Pawan Kalyan and making false promises through a deceptive manifesto. Their lack of shame is evident as they try to fool the people,” he said.
“Their political agenda is centered on the common agenda of robbing the people of Andhra Pradesh rather than serving them," the Chief Minister told a public meeting after laying the foundation for the Varikapudisela lift irrigation scheme in Macherla. “The YSRC is the natural ally of the people,” he asserted.
The CM mocked the mini-election manifesto of the TD and Jana Sena and said the people “are not ready to believe in the 11-point false election promises of Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.”
“If you believe that you have benefitted from our government, vote for the YSRC in the next elections,” he told the people and asked them to reject the TD-Jana Sena alliance.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Who would believe in Naidu who had cheated self-help groups of women and farmers with false promises of loan waiver. He had created the illusion of Amaravati while neglecting decentralisation. He helped his son and grandson pursue education in corporate schools while opposing English medium schools and he opposed allotment of house sites to the poor, citing demographic imbalance.”
The government has so far spent ' 2,40,000 crore and '1,70, 000 crore through DBT and non-DBT modes respectively, implementing 99.95 per cent of its election promises besides creating 2.7 lakh government jobs during the last 53 months, Jagan Mohan Reddy stated.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the YSRC government has been striving hard for the social, political, economic and educational empowerment of SC, ST, BC and minorities. He said that the welfare schemes and people’s confidence in the government were giving him the courage to face situations.
“Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the heavy borrowings thrust on us by the previous TD rule, we never stopped implementing welfare programmes and development works. That was our commitment,” he said.
“Naidu failed to grant revenue division status to his own Assembly constituency, Kuppam, and did not even provide drinking water to it during the TD rule. How can anyone expect good things from a ruler who didn’t implement even a single welfare scheme,” he wondered.
“While we did a lot of good work, Naidu only talks of his Vision 2047 while neglecting the present. Naidu never thought of decentralisation and did no justice to the three regions of the state.”
