Nellore: MLC and TD senior leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said he complained to the Chairman of Legislative Council Dr A. Chakrapani against his arch rival and YSR Congress MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy over false allegations levelled against him over amassing properties in foreign countries.
Speaking to this newspaper, he said he had requested the Chairman to bring the issue to the notice of privileges committee and consider the episode for a case study since it is for the first time a member of assembly had attempted to destroy the image of a member of legislative council based on forged documents produced by a gang.
Reminding that it is an unpardonable blunder he underlined the need to establish a framework to deal firmly with such members in future. He alleged that Govardhan Reddy has been telling everyone that he went ahead and levelled charges against Chandramohan Reddy armed with fake documents because of a suggestion given by YSRC MP Vijay Sai Reddy.
“The suggestion of Vijay Sai Reddy was to damage me politically by using the forged documents since it will take four to five years for investigating the case and the truth to surface,” Mr Chandramohan Reddy said.
He said YSRC Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is accused in 11 cases and ED is already attaching his properties and Vijay Sai Reddy also accused in 11 cases.
Adding that there are seven cases against Govardhan Reddy too, he advised YSRC leaders to maintain decorum in politics.
