Promote pharmacy education: PCI chief B. Suresh laid
Rajahmundry: Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) president B. Suresh laid stress on the need for pharmacy education to orient itself to help the pharma industry to come up with drugs that will help cure various diseases.
Taking part in the inauguration of the two-day Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Students’ Forum, Dr B. Suresh urged students who are pursuing pharmacy courses to take up more research so as to help the pharmaceutical industry to come up with various combination of drugs that would help people suffering with various health problems.
The event is being held under the aegis of the Vikas Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences near the Rajahmundry airport.
Indian Pharmaceutical Association president Dr T.V. Narayana and director of the Vikas Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, said that they have completed 10 years since the inception of the institute and this was the 10th edition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Students’ Forum that was being held.
He added that the organisation was committed to providing quality education and will help solve any problems faced by students while they are pursuing their education.
Dr T.V. Narayana further shared that they have organised a competition for students. The competition has nine events, with each event carrying a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. As many as 2,500 students from several parts of the country attended the event on the first day.
