Chennai: Time taken for marksheet verification for college admissions will be reduced to a minute now. A private firm has come up with a product wherein unlike the conventional system where admission process takes 20 to 60 days, it will be done in a minute. It will also prevent unauthorised verification and fraudulent documents.
ICrederity a Nasscom company, recently launched ‘iCredify,’ a cloud based real-time education verification product, supporting and automating the verification process at universities and colleges.
It was launched in other metro cities recently. In Chennai, SRM University has been approached. According to chief operating officer Madhu Pinapaty ‘iCredify’ digitises and verifies the certificate verification on real time basis. “If a candidate seeks a job or higher education anywhere, it will take some 20 to 60 odd days from the university or the respective colleges for the verification process.
But with digitisation and software availability, we enable a link on the website of the university itself towards services which applies the request immediately.” It will help the university to digitise the data into soft copy, so much so that anybody who makes a request if the university is charging payment they can make a payment through a gateway and through the pr code and get the digitised
signature of the university in a pdf format that day itself.”
