Jana Sena severes ties with NDA
Vijayawada: The Jana Sena Chief’s clarification over alliance with the NDA has sent a straight signal to the BJP that he has a clear agenda for 2019 Assembly elections. Pawan Kalyan’s ‘perform or perish formula’ has created more worries to the TD leadership as they have just deployed their young leader Lokesh into direct politics. The Jana Sena supremo has also clarified that Chiranjeevi wouldn’t be a part of the Jana Sena.
His statement about 60 per cent seats would be given to youth in 2019 is nothing but to disturb the cadre base of the TD. In fact, a recent survey conducted for Jana Sena has suggested that Jana Sena would secure 65, TD 71 and YSRC 39 in 2019 Assembly elections also prompted Pawan Kalyan to declare his road map. A recent survey conducted has suggested that in case of instant elections, Jana Sena would secure five seats in Srikakulam, four in Vizianagaram, nine in Visakhapatnam, 15 in East Godavari, 12 in West Godavari, six in Krishna district, five in Guntur, three each in Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts. However, the Jana Sena won’t have space in Rayalaseema districts - Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts.
The survey has suggested that the YSRC would secure 39 and the TD will get 71 seats in 2019 Assembly elections. Though Pawan Kalyan has suggested that he would field candidates from both the Telugu states, his main concentration is on AP, according to his close associate and a former minister. “The mistakes committed by the Praja Rajyam won’t take place,” Pawan Kalyan has clarified and sent straight signals to both the TD and the BJP that he would not be sailing with them in 2019.
In fact, the BJP has some clarity about Pawan Kalyan’s 2019 moves while the TD is clueless and now went into a defensive mode. The TD supremo wants Lokesh to handle 2019 elections and all of a sudden Pawan hit the political scenario of AP by stating that 60 per cent of seats would be allotted to youth. “Now, Lokesh has to chose his path and act smartly to counter Pawan Kalyan’s ‘youth’ formula, which is indicating a tough battle for the TD in 2019 from the Jana Sena on one side and the YSRC on the other,” Chandu Sreenivasa Rao, High Court advocate and active member of the erstwhile PR policy body told this correspondent.
