Sources close to the cm said that Mr Siddaramaiah advised both Dr Yathindra and Dr Rajesh to part ways in Matrix' for mutual benefit.

Bengaluru: Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah has resigned as the director of Matrix Imaging Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and will be replaced by his partner Dr Rajesh Gowda’s wife Dr Tejaswini Gowda, who is a career pathologist.

Dr Rajesh told Deccan Chronicle that the Matrix diagnostic centre at the Victoria Hospital, which was in the centre of a controversy, will be inaugurated by the month-end or early next month. “We will have a soft launch after the puja,” he said.

Dr Rajesh said that Dr Yathindra, who is presently out of Bengaluru, will tender his resignation on Monday. “Since ours is a private limited firm, there are certain formalities that he will have to complete before he steps down and another director is appointed in his place,” said Dr Rajesh.

“We will have to upload the resignation of the incumbent director in the website of Ministry of Corporate Affairs and replace his name with the new one after it is ratified in the meeting of Board of Directors,” he added.

Dr Yathindra, who is also the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, stepped down from Matrix following the controversy that he bagged a coveted government contract for setting up a diagnostic pathology and radiology centre in Victoria Hospital in violation of code of conduct for elected representatives.

Meanwhile, sources close to the chief minister said that Mr Siddaramaiah advised both Dr Yathindra and Dr Rajesh to part ways in ‘Matrix’ for mutual benefit.

“He told Dr Yathindra that while he was confident that he had not violated any rules in getting the contract, it would be better if he came out of ‘Matrix’ to come clean on charges of being a beneficiary to government tender, because he was the CM’s son.

To Dr Rajesh, Mr Siddaramaiah said that his partnership with Yathindra will always be under public lens and he may face similar problems in the future for bidding in any new government tender or contract,” said an official source.
