Hyderabad: Director-general of police Anurag Sharma on Monday announced a 25 per cent hike in the salaries of CID personnel.

Speaking after a review meeting and distributing appreciation certificates and rewards to the CID staff, the DGP urged the personnel to live up to the expectations of the people and the government and ensure justice to the weaker sections.

He said the Telangana CID had uncovered scams at Bhavana Coop Housing Society, Agri Gold, Akshaya Gold, and the CM Relief Fund.

He said special operations like Operation Smile-I & II, and Operation Muskan had succeeded in unravelling crimes against women and child labour involving boys and girls smuggled from Bihar and Jharkhand. “Next to the law and order personnel, the CID has won all-round appreciation for quick detection of all types of crimes and recovery of valuables,” he said.
