It's like educational tour to understand people: Kamal Haasan
Kanyakumari: "It's like an educational tour for me to understand people," said Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder leader, Kamal Haasan at Kanyakumari on Wednesday.
The actor turned politician commenced his political tour in the southern districts for the first time after he launched his party, by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the latter's memorial in Kanyakumari. He clearly stated that he would not speak much politics during his three day tour programme in the four southern districts of Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar. "This is like an educational tour for me as I have taken up the tour to understand the sentiments of people better," said Kamal Haasan, who did not get down from his campaign vehicle to interact with people.
Regretting the deterioration of values like honesty, not just in politics but in general public life as a whole, Kamal Hasan feels that attempting to inculcate values like honesty and cleanliness among his party cadres and among people would be one of the prime objective of his party. Congratulating students who got through the plus 2 board examinations, Kamal Hasan advised them to go for higher education. "I am optimistic that our students will do well in their future lives," he said, thanking people for recognising him as a versatile actor, and requesting them to accept him as a politician to serve them. Concluding his tour programme at Nagercoil after visiting 14 spots in
Kanyakumari district on Wednesday, Kamal is to meet the public and party cadres in 12 spots each in the other three southern districts of Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar on the following two days on May 17 and 18.
