Telangana: Gang cuts off man's tongue
Khammam: Tension gripped Manuguru mandal after the slicing of a person’s tongue in the forests near Vijayanagaram village on Friday.
The tongue of Gummala Ravi Kumar, 32, a resident of Pedamidicileru, was cut by four persons in the forest area between Vijayanagaram and Chikkudugunta while he was going to Vijayanagaram from Chikkudugunta. Police said the gang cut away a four centimetre piece from the tongue.
Ravi Kumar said the persons attacked him, covered his eyes with a cloth and tied his hands. Later, they took him deep into the forests, cut his tongue and disappeared within seconds. Ravi Kumar tried to retrieve the sliced part of the tongue from the spot but did not find it. He was unable to identify them because of the sudden attack. Later, he managed to come to the police station and filed a complaint at the Manuguru police station.
Ravi had married a girl from Chikkudugunta. He came to Chikkudugunta two days back to meet his wife. There was a heated argument between him and his wife. The parents of his wife intervened and both parties shouted at each other. Ravi woke up in the morning and went to Vijayanagaram walking.
The police suspects some people. Ravi is undergoing treatment at the Manuguru hospital.
