Kumarambheem Asifabad: Tribals shifted to city in AC bus
Kumarambheem Asifabad: Forest officials shifted the heads of 16 Adivasi families from Gondi and Kolamguda villages in Kagaznagar mandal in Kumarambheem Asifab-ad district in an AC bus to present them before a High Court bench in Hyderabad on Sunday.
There are a total of 67 Adivasis belonging to two Adivasi gudems in Komurambheem district.
Dealing with a house motion on the eviction of tribals from houses and land and their subsequent detainment in a timber depot, the High Court had asked the government to produce the Adivasis in an AC bus.
The Adivasi elders were moved under the supervision of Kagaznagar Fore-st Division Officer Raja Ramana Reddy and FRO Anitha to Hyderabad.
Responding to the issue, Sirpur (T) Constituency Congress party in-charge Dr Palvai Harishbabu said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised during the elections to give pattas to the podu lands being cultivated by the Adivasis and added that he failed to fulfill his promise.
He regretted that local MLA Koneru Konappa, Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku of TRS and collector and project officer of ITDA, Utnoor, did not respond to the harassment of Adivasis.
