Visakhapatnam: A final year B Pharmacy student died on the spot of severe head injuries after he fell off a moving train while allegedly hanging out of it to take a selfie. The incident took place near Borra Caves Junction in Vizag Agency on Sunday morning when the Vizag Kirandol passenger train was passing through the tunnels on the KK line.
The deceased was identified as D Gopi Reddy, 22, native of Guntur. He along with his four friends came to Vizag city on Saturday for a joy trip and boarded the train on Sunday to visit Araku Valley and a few others in Vizag.
Inspector A. Dasarathi of the Government Railway Police, Vizianagaram, said Gopi fell from the moving train when he was trying to take a selfie while passing through the tunnels. The police has registered a case under Section 174 of CrPc and investigation is on.
