Khammam TikToK staff face pay cut

The employees were identified from the videos which went viral.

Khammam: The 11 outsourcing employees of the Khammam Municipal Corporation who were caught shooting TikTok videos on Tuesday suffered a 10-day pay cut as punishment for misusing office premises.

Data entry operators were shifted to other sections and office subordinates seen in the videos were sent to do field work. KMC commissioner Srinivasa Rao said their performance would be assessed and their services terminated if there was no change in their behaviour.

The employees were identified from the videos which went viral. The media also covered the incident of the employees shooting the TikTok videos during working hours.

The videos went to the notice of collector R.V. Karnan who took a strong view against it and asked the KMC commissioner Srinivas Rao to investigate.

Mr Srinivasa Rao said officials examined the vidoes and identified 11 outsourcing staff.

“They have been warned about their indecent behaviour, damaging the reputation of the corporation,” the municipal commissioner said.

The staff was expected to be busy working on issuing birth and death certificates, entering property tax details, addressing problems of persons coming to the KMC office.

Those seen in the videos were identified as system assistants P. Ravi and Suresh, associate Rajasek-har, data entry operators N. Sankar, T. Praveen Kumar, P. Anita and L. Upender and office subordinates Veeranna, Vamshi, G. Jyothi and V. Sridevi.
