ED conducts raids at TN Minister K Ponmudi's residence

Chennai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted raids at Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi's residence. The raids began early morning and the searches are being conducted at his residence in Villupuram. The ED officials also raided the houses of Ponmudi's son and daughter, according to reports.

According to reports, the ED raided the minister's premises in connection with money laundering charges. Ponmudi was recently acquitted in a land-grabbing case registered against him by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

Ponmudy is the second DMK leader to have come under the ED scanner. Earlier, minister V Senthil Balaji was arrested by ED following raids at his premises.
