HYDERABAD: Following a complaint filed by the BJP Election Commission Affairs Committee chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj issued directives on Saturday to the District Election Officers (DEOs) to investigate the allegations raised by Shashidhar Reddy regarding discrepancies in the preparation of the draft electoral roll. The DEOs have been instructed to submit a report on these matters by October 19.
Marri Shashidhar Reddy submitted a formal petition to the CEO, outlining serious concerns regarding the preparation of the draft electoral roll in the state. As part of his request, the BJP leader urged the CEO to thoroughly examine the issue and take any necessary actions.
In response, CEO Vikas Raj has directed the DEOs to investigate whether they have received any representations from residents of gated communities and flat owners within their respective jurisdictions, who have requested the establishment of polling stations within their gated communities. Further, the DEOs are instructed to provide details of any actions taken in response to such requests.
