Rajahmundry: Appreciating Sir Arthur Cotton who built a strong barrage across Godavari river as it withstood the march past of a large number of party supporters, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan wondered whether Polavaram Dam being built by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu could withstand a similar exercise.
Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the Jana Sena chief turned critical on Mr Naidu for enhancing the project cost, without allegedly maintaining the quality of works to get kickbacks from contractors. He said that a large number of farmers lost their fertile lands for the project and added that they were not being provided with proper compensation and warned to stage a massive stir if the State Government fails to provide proper relief to them.
