Someone free-riding on my brand: Deepinder Goyal on Zomato Indore model

In response to the viral video showcasing an unconventional marketing stunt involving a female model without a helmet, Zomato, a leading food delivery app, has taken to social media to clarify its position. Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, posted a tweet on his official Twitter account addressing the situation.

Goyal wrote, "Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this.

We don’t endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don’t have a “Indore Marketing Head”.

This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand. Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with women delivering food - we have hundreds of women who deliver food everyday to earn a livelihood for their families, and we are proud of their work ethic."

This statement aims to distance Zomato from the controversial video and clarify that the company neither endorsed nor supported such a marketing stunt. Goyal also highlighted the integral role played by women delivery partners within their workforce, emphasizing Zomato's commitment to gender diversity and inclusivity.

It was noted that the video was initially posted by a verified Twitter handle belonging to Rajiv Mehta (@rajivmehta19). The clarification from Zomato comes as the controversy surrounding the video continues to make waves across social media and news platforms.
