CM Jagan to Confer Ownership Rights for 35,44,866 Acres of Land in Nuzvid
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute the rights for the pre-2003 assignment lands as also titles to the new assignment lands at a public meeting in Nuzvid on Friday, November 17.
The CM would depart from the Tadepalli residence at 9.45 am and reach Nuzvid after distribution of assigned lands to 42,307 poor people and conferring ownership rights to over 35,44,866 acres of land, benefiting 20,24,709 poor people across the state, officials said.
The Chief Minister wants to put an end to the longstanding land disputes. “This groundbreaking initiative marks a paradigm shift in the land revenue system, ushering in an era of fair land distribution to the impoverished rural populace and bestowing full ownership rights on farmers.”
The Chief Minister has also said that the distribution of assigned lands to the landless Dalits, weaker sections and the poor as also handing over of the title deeds to the Assigned, Village Service Inams and SC Corporation (LPS) lands with freehold rights, would mainly also help keep up the dignity of Dalits.
Revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said full rights on 27,41,698 acres were granted to 15,21,160 farmers who completed 20 years of assignment, and 951 acres allotted for the Dalit burial grounds in 1,563 village secretariats.
He stated that the CM allotted assigned/lease deeds to 17,768 people in 9,064 acres of lanka lands.
The government has also decided to reclassify 1,58,113 acres of village service Inam lands, currently categorised under the prohibited list (22-A), and grant freehold rights to 1,61,584 farmers possessing these lands. This is to rectify the wrong decision made by the previous government, the minister said.
He said freehold rights were granted to 22,346 land allottees along with a loan waiver on 22,837 acres of land purchased under the Land Purchase Scheme (LPS) of the SC Corporation.
“The state government has embarked on an unprecedented re-survey of landholdings across the state, which is being done after a gap of 100 years, to resolve land disputes and to provide permanent land titles. The YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhu Raksha programme has successfully completed the re-survey of 42.6 lakh acres in 4000 villages out of a total 17,460 revenue villages in two phases.
As a result, 17.53 lakh farmers have received permanent title deeds, 4.8 lakh mutations have been resolved, and 10.21 lakh new subdivisions done. Additionally, 45,000 boundary disputes have been settled.
Registration facilities have been made available in all Village Secretariats across 4,000 villages where the re-survey has been completed.
Registrations in 2,000 villages, where the second phase of the programme has been taken up, begins today.
The revenue minister stated that the government has empowered landholders by granting comprehensive rights on Assigned (DKT) lands that completed 20 years of assignment (assigned before 2003), Village Service Inam, and SC Corporation Land Purchase Scheme (LPS) lands that have been delisted from Section 22-A.
These rights include the right to sell, buy, obtain loans, mortgage, gift, and inherit the land. Some 71,800 acres of land were acquired to develop 17,005 YSR-Jagananna colonies. The government distributed 30.65 lakh house sites free of cost to all eligible women beneficiaries in these layouts, further constructing 22 lakh houses.
“Our government provided a permanent solution to 2,06,315 acres of dotted lands, thus benefiting 1,07,134 farmers. The government also acted in ways that benefit 1,30,368 tribals with RoFR pattas of 2,87,710 acres, besides issuing DKT pattas to 26,287 tribals, covering 39,272 acres.
He claimed that the YSRC government restored full rights to 22,042 people by delisting 33,494 acres of conditional patta lands from the prohibited list (22-A), which were added to the list due to the “faulty decisions” made during the previous TD rule.
