Karnataka CM sir, help trace our MLA, We have many matters to solve
Karwar: An individual from Karwar has written to the chief minister for help in tracing Karwar MLA Roopali Naik!
The letter being circulated on Whatsapp is dated December 13 and was reportedly written by one Sanjay S Shanbhag, a resident of Karwar, to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
“It has been many days since her election, we have been trying to trace our beloved MLA for some vital matters but to no avail. Sent the papers to her office six times on September 6, October 9, November 3 and December 6 but no response has been received till today. So we are requesting you to help to trace her and give her the enclosed file (being sent by registered post) with the same contents as sent to her local office....," the letter says.
The letter also refers to the contents- which mainly pertain to schools fleecing parents and opposition to the Beer Mela at Kali River Garden among others. “Please help us in this matter and you can extend help to her also in solving the matter cutting across political lines,” he added.
Interestingly, Roopali Naik had raised the 'Beer Mela' issue at the session and the clippings of this had gone viral on social media.
“There are many burning issues in Karwar town, including opposition to the expansion of the Kaiga plant, lack of infrastructure and industries. The MLA did get time to ask question in the session. Instead of raising these issues, our MLA has raised the ‘Beer Mela’, which could have been solved at the local level,” activist Madhav Nayak contends.
