Vijay Diwas Bison Run in Hyderabad Honors 1971 War Heroes
Bison Division of the Indian Army organizes a spirited run to commemorate the bravery of armed forces in the Indo-Pak war.
Hyderabad: The Bison Division of the Indian Army conducted a ‘Vijay Diwas Bison Run’ here on Saturday to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Brig. Avtar Singh (retd) from the Corps of EME and Col Bhupinder Singh (Retd) aged 76 and 75, claimed top honours in the veterans' category.
The event held at the Maitra Stadium in the Secunderabad Cantonment, was divided into three distance categories — 12.5 km, 6 km, and 5 km, and saw the participation of defence personnel and veterans, NCC cadets, and running enthusiasts including from Hyderabad Runners Group and Secunderabad Runners Group.
