Bengaluru: CRPF martyr H Guru widow wants to join Army

Mandya felt disappointed that they could not see the mortal remains for a last time with only immediate kin.

Mysuru: A day after Pulwama attack martyr H. Guru’s mortal remains were consigned to the flames, his 20-year-old widow Kalavathi who is yet to recover from the shock, disclosed that her husband had always promised to nourish her dream of becoming a lecturer.

“My husband wanted to serve in the Army for 10 more years and hence I feel like joining the Army and serving for 10 years to fulfill his dream,” she said. Kalavathi is doing her MA.

Meanwhile, many of Guru’s relatives at Gudigere Colony in Maddur, Mandya felt disappointed that they could not see the mortal remains for a last time with only immediate kin, including parents, brothers and widow able to see his face when it was kept on the pyre. A sea of people lined up at his home to console the family on Sunday, too.
