Bhopal: Superintendent of police of Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh Amit Singh who was caught dancing with a state Pradesh minister in public in a video has been shunted out to police headquarters following a directive by Election Commission (EC).
A video showing Mr Singh dancing along with state minister Lakhan Ghanghoria in a wedding function had gone viral provoking Opposition BJP to demand EC to shunt him out to ensure transparency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the area.
The state government issued a notification late on Saturday evening transferring Mr Singh to police headquarters following intervention by EC.
Mr Singh was among three superintendents of police and two district collectors who have been transferred following a directive by EC.
While Panna district superintendent of police Anil Kushwaha has been replaced by Mayank Awasthi, Singrauli district superintendent of police Hitesh Choudhury has been replaced by Deepak Kumar Shukla in the post.
Similarly, Bhind district collector Chote Singh has been replaced by Vijay Kumar and Umeria district collector Amar Pal Singh has been replaced by Sworachis Somvesh in the post.
