Andhra Pradesh: Cash crunch at ATMs continues
Vijayawada: Cash crunch continued in city on Wednesday at the ATMs following the instructions by the Reserve Bank of India. City dwellers faced tough time in arranging cash to meet their day-to-day expenses. ATMs in the city displayed out of service boards.
A majority of private banks have updated their software and malware protections but public sector banks were lagging behind. Huge rush was seen at a few ATMs dispensing cash. “It is not fair for the government and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to play with the public. Before forgetting the cash crunch situation after demonetisation, closure of ATMs with cyber attacks had increased our cash problems,” says Jasti Veerabhadram Chowdary, a senior citizen waiting at an ATM queue. Bank officials say that they were trying to update malware and software of ATMs and will soon bring them.
