Kottayam: The online distribution of question papers for PG exams to the colleges under the MG University will handy for both students and principals.
Question papers will be available online half an hour before the exams, and they can access them using a password. “This will help avoid hindrances including the leakage and the practical difficulty in storing the question papers at the colleges,” K Sharafuddin, a syndicate member, told DC.
There are approximately 10,000 students who are studying at the 116 colleges under the university.
The APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University (KTU) had already adopted the online method. The University authorities say the conducting of exams will now be more transparent.
Taking into account the demands of the principals, the PG online examinations which have been scheduled to start on Wednesday at the colleges has been rescheduled to the end of the month since they needed more time for its trial run.
The other exams will begin on May 22 as scheduled. More than 500 PG students at the university departments will not however come under this as the university directly conducts the exams there.
The new initiative is perceived as a move to bring the entire system from undergraduate level online gradually.
