Tirupati: Lord taken on a ride atop Garuda
Tirupati: On the fifth day of the ongoing annual brahmotsavams at Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple, the processional idol of the Lord was taken in a procession on the Garuda Vahanam on Monday evening.
The Lord rode on his favourite Garuda majestically all along the mada streets in the evening.
His entourage included caparisoned elephants, Chakka bhajan teams, Kolatas and Kerala drum beaters as devotees offered harati at every step.
Prior to this, the processional idol of Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy was taken out on a procession in a decked palanquin in Mohini Avataram in the morning.
Prior to the Garuda Seva, the celestial procession of Lakshmi Kasula Haram was held at Appalayagunta temple. This precious jewel brought from Tiruchanoor was adorned to the Lord while he rode on Garuda Vahanam. The procession of the jewel began at Hanuman temple in Appalayagunta.
