Lakshmipur Lift Irrigation Project gets Wildlife Board's Approval

Hyderabad: The National Board for Wildlife has permitted the Telangana state government to take up the Lakshmipur Lift Irrigation Project in Nirmal district, apart from 22 other minor works in different districts requiring permissions under the Wildlife Protection Act.

According to principal chief conservator of forests Rakesh Mohan Dobriyal, the Board okayed the construction of the project, requiring 3.7 hectares of forest land, in Khanapur division of Nirmal district. The Rs 40-crore project is designed to lift .23 TMC ft of water for irrigation and other requirements.

Dobriyal said the Board has also approved 11 works related to road widening in Maoist-affected areas, along with five Panchayat Raj roads and works on power lines in Kagaznagar division of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
