Bengaluru: Tension prevailed in Yelahanka at Doddaballapur Road Junction on Saturday after a granite memorial to the late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan , martyred during the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, was found smashed to pieces.
While some speculated that it might be a handiwork of miscreants, the police clarified that the damage was caused on September 15, by a mini truck belonging to Mother Dairy, which lost control and cannoned into the stone slab. As of Monday, most of it had been rebuilt. The driver of the vehicle has been detained.
