Hyderabad: Hotel creates sewage mess in Attapur
Hyderabad: It seems that wherever hotels are built, sanitary sewer systems overflow due to dumping of food waste into drainage lines. At Attapur crossroads, a manhole has been overflowing for two days now, but the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Board has not turned up to clean it.
The flowing sewage water has reached over a kilometre and continues apace.
Star Pride Hotel near Pillar No. 144 of PVNR Expressway at Attapur is the culprit. At the corner of the hotel is a manhole. Local traders complained that overflowing drainage is a regular feature due to the dumping of food waste into sewer lines by the hotel which leads to unpleasant smells. One of them said, “it affects out business and we have been facing a lot of inconvenience. It is difficult for commuters to pass across the overflowing drainage water.”
A trader said, “We cannot raise objection against it as it would hamper their relationship with the owners of the hotel.”
