Food poisoning: Two girls shifted to Gandhi Hospital
Hyderabad: A day after 30 girls from BC welfare residential school in Manchal, Rangareddy district, fell ill due to food poisoning on Saturday, the condition of two girls, who have since been shifted to Gandhi Hospital, remained a matter of concern on Sunday.
Six of the 30 were admitted in the nearby area hospital in Vanasthalipuram with complaints of stomach ache, diarrhea and vomiting. The condition of four girls was stable and they are likely to be discharged in a day.
Dr N. Krishna, RMO of the hospital, said they had referred two girls, Pooja and Trisha, to Gandhi hospital as they were also complaining of severe abdominal pain.
Meanwhile, Pooja’s father N Srinivas, an auto-rickshaw driver from Yamjal village, said “My daughter's condition worsened in the morning. We rushed her to Gandhi hospital, where her condition has improved and she is feeling much better.”
Trisha’s mother N. Padma, a farmer from Devarakonda village, said that her daughter was responding well and showing marked improvement after doctors at Gandhi hospital treated her.
Dr M. Raja Rao, superintendent of Gandhi hospital, said “the two have been kept under observation, though they are stable. Functioning of their kidney needs to be evaluated in addition to a thorough test of their organs. It will take three to four days to decide the next stage of treatment”.
