Jagan To Deposit Rs 325.02 Cr Into Accounts Of Jagananna Chedodu Beneficiaries

Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would release Jagananna Chedodu funds during a programme at the YWCS ground in Yemmiganur, Kurnool district, on Thursday.

The chief minister would address a public meeting and, via online, deposit Rs 325.02 crore as financial assistance into the accounts of 3,25,020 eligible Rajakas, Nayee Brahmins and tailors across the state.

BC welfare minister Venugopala Krishna said, “With an unwavering conviction that the BC communities are the backbone of our society, the Jagan-led state government is bringing about major changes in the lives of the Rajaka, Nayee Brahmin and tailor communities. We are empowering them.”

“The Jagananna Chedodu is offered for the fourth consecutive year, he said, and explained that the present government provided a total financial assistance of Rs 1,252.51 crore under this scheme alone, including the assistance now,” the minister said.

He explained that a financial assistance of Rs 180.66 crore would be released this time to 1,80,656 tailors, Rs 104.55 crore to 1,04,551 Rajakas and Rs 39.81 crore to 39,813 Nayee Brahmins by the chief minister.

Minister Krishna said the state government was striving hard to ensure that every eligible person gets the benefit in saturation mode. “If any eligible person was left out from this scheme for whatever reason, they are given one more chance to apply. If found eligible after verification, they will be given the benefit in June or December every year, depending upon the time of disbursal.”

The YSRC government has so far provided Rs 40,000 @ Rs 10,000 per annum to Rajakas, Nayee Brahmins and tailors who own shops. The government says it is committed to the welfare of backward classes.
