Andhra Pradesh: Campaign on child protection held
Guntur: As part of a drive by the Childline Guntur, RPF and GRP, a signature campaign on “Childline Se Dosti” programme was held at the Guntur railway station on Friday. The organisers asserted the need to protect children from the clutches of anti social elements. RPF circle inspector K.V. Ramanaiah said the parents should behave in a friendly manner with their children and teachers also should not pile huge pressure on students as this could have adverse effect and lead to family problems. This is the main reasons for children running away from their houses.
He said homeless children fuel the intents of human traffickers and sought social service organisations to work for eradication of human trafficking with the government. He started the signature campaign and RPF sub-inspector M.L.V. Sastry, ASI Ch. Sambasiva Rao, Childline Guntur coordinator K. Sameer Kumar and railway commuters put their signatures.
In a separate programme by Childline on traffic awareness in Pulipaka School at Guntur on Friday, traffic sub-inspector Balakrishna explained the traffic rules and norms to students and asked them to become good citizens by bringing awareness about helmet rule among their parents and relatives. The students tied rakhis to traffic police on the occasion.
