Jagan took historic decisions: Minister Nagarjuna
Vijayawada: Social Justice Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took many historic decisions on his own without waiting for the people to raise such demands.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the minister listed actions like grant of rights to assigned lands, RoFR pattas to tribals, and removal of dotted lands from 22A, which were all “unprecedented in history.”
“The CM did not do this because someone asked him to do. He understood the people’s problems and took actions on his own,” Nagarjuna said.
He said Jagan Reddy ushered in a social change revolution and under his leadership, if 31 lakh houses were sanctioned, 80 per cent of them were for SCs, STs, BCs and the minorities.
“Out of 2.07 lakh jobs, more than 80 per cent of these were given to the weaker sections. DBT of 2.40 lakh crore reached eligible persons, without any show of prejudice based on politics, caste or religion.”
The minister claimed that Jagan Reddy “is the heartbeat of the poor people in AP. There was never any instance of injustice to Dalits under Jagan's government.”
He said that the CM was deeply hurt when he heard that a Dalit youth committed suicide. “Jagan Reddy immediately responded and asked me and the local legislator to stand by the family. We helped the family.”
Minister Nagarjuna criticised former judge Jada Sravan Kumar for “selling himself to Naidu,” who “never stood by the Dalits.”
