Rs 1,045 crore sanctioned for 187 works: Dy CM Budi
Visakhapatnam: Deputy CM and panchayat raj and rural development minister Budi Mutyala Naidu said administrative sanction had been accorded to ground 187 works under his ministry at a cost of Rs 1,045.44 crore.
Speaking to reporters at Taruva village on Friday in his constituency, the deputy chief minister said CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy sanctioned these works by issuing GO No. 788. He said tenders would be soon invited to initiate the works.
He said the works include 115 roads with a length of 916 kilometres, for which '576.15 crore had been earmarked, and 72 bridges at a cost of '459 crore. He said the funds were sanctioned under Prime Minister Grameena Swarajya Yojana Scheme Phase 3. The central government would sanction 60 per cent of the funds and remaining funds woulf be sanctioned by the state government .
“The communication system in the state will improve after the completion of the roads, bridges, and resurfacing of the existing roads,’’ the deputy chief minister said.
He thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning these works, which he did apart from concentrating on the implementation of welfare schemes for the people.
