Jagan hailed for following social empowerment dharma

SB Amzath Basha lauds Jagan's commitment to social justice, cites significant opportunities for marginalized communities.

Vijayawada: Deputy chief minister and minister for minorities, SB Amzath Basha said that even as social empowerment still remains a slogan in the country, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh has set a fine example while swearing by the social empowerment dharma.

He was speaking at a Samjika Sadhikara bus yatra public meeting at Nandigama on Sunday.

Basha said that Jagan has given opportunities to many leaders belonging to SC, ST, BC and minorities categories while former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had only cheated them.

“The Chief Minister made me deputy CM, whereas there was not a single member from the minority category in Naidu’s cabinet. Jagan has made Zakhia Khanam the deputy chairman of the Legislative Council. He has given respectable positions to many minorities,” he said.

He pointed out that while for the welfare of minorities, Naidu had spent only Rs 2,650 crore during his entire tenure, Jagan has spent Rs 23,175 crore in four and a half years.
Minister Meruga Nagarjuna said that the country was seeing a real social revolution in AP, thanks to the initiatives launched by Jagan, who has put an end to disparities among castes. He stated that of the Rs 2.40 lakh crore spent on welfare schemes, around 80 per cent of it was given to beneficiaries from SC, ST, BC and minorities categories.

Minister Jogi Ramesh said that Jagan is the only Chief Minister in the country, who has been following social justice and social dharma. It is because of this that SCs, STs, BCs and minorities were with Jagan, whom they all trusted.
