Vishal leaves for Delhi to meet PM
Chennai: Actor Vishal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi making an appeal to pass an ordinance to lift the ban on jallikattu and allow its practice.
“Hats off to youth of Tamil Nadu for joining hands for this cause from various cities and towns and voicing their opinion seeking to lift the ban on jallikattu,” the Nadigar Sangam secretary said at a press conference.
He said he is expecting positive response from PM Modi and jallikattu will be conducted at least on Tamil New Year’s Day on April 14. Clearing airs about rumours that he was a supporter of Peta, Vishal said, “I was never a part or member of Peta. I am an animal lover. I have been always supporting Tamil culture. Public should believe only things directly said by the actors.
There’s so much of animosity and abuse on social media. That’s the precise reason I am out of my Twitter handle.” On Wednesday night Vishal left for New Delhi hoping for an appointment with Modi.
