WhatsApp to tackle drinking water shortage in Nizamabad

ZPTC members and MPP presidents brought the acute water shortage problem issue to the notice of officials in ZP meeting.

Nizamabad: To address the drinking water complaints, Whats-App will be created in Nizamabad district. ZPTC members and MPP presidents brought the acute water shortage problem issue to the notice of officials in Zilla Parishad general body meeting held here on Thursday.

ZP chairman D.Raju chaired the meeting and Jukkal MLA Hanmanth Shinde, MLCs V.G. Goud, Akula Lalitha and R. Bhu-pati Reddy took part in the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, collector Yogita Rana said that special cell will be set up at ZP office to monitor the drinking water problem.

Presently, WhatsApp is monitoring the situation on drinking water problems. She said that Rs 8.47 crore had already been sanctioned for works. Around 500 villages are facing acute water shortage and private submer-sible pumps were engaged for drinking water needs, she explained.

There is no shortage of funds for drinking water needs and around 35 newly recruited assistant engineers will join RWS soon, she said. Jukkal MLA Hanmanth Shinde expressed displ-easure over negligence in road works under the Panchayat Raj.

He said that officials should understand the motive of government and work accordingly. Joint collector A.Ravinder Reddy, ZP CEO Mohan Lal and others were present.
