GUNTUR: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that 10 lakh houses would be built in the state in coming two years. Speaking at a programme organised to launch Arogya Raksha at Gollapadu in Muppalla mandal of Guntur district, he said that the scheme was introduced to ensure quality healthcare to everyone in the state. Muppalla mandal was the the first in the state where everyone has opted for Arogya Raksha scheme. Mr Naidu said though the state is languishing in financial crisis, the state government has ensured that the crisis does not affect the welfare measures.
“I agreed to the special package to the state as the Union government has said that it cannot give special status. We have agreed to the package only after the assurance that every benefit that would have come to the state through special status will be extended to the state through the package,” he said. Taking on the opposition, he said that some people are misleading the public that employment opportunities will come only with the special status, which is not true,” said Mr Naidu.
Pressing on the need for toilets, the Chief Minister said those who do not use toilets are not humans. Earlier, he interacted with the Kasturba Gandhi Residential School students over the usage of toilets. Speaking at Mulakaluru in Narasaraopet mandal, he said the TD government is giving top priority to the minority welfare. He inaugurated various developmental works worth Rs 60 crore intended for Muslims. The Chief Minister announced that Haj House will be built at Kurnool and vowed to protect the interests of minorities.
Mr Naidu announced Guntur district to be open defection-free district and said all the districts should follow Guntur in achieving cleanliness. He praised Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao for his initiatives towards toilets construction. Meanwhile, Mr Naidu has once again criticised the President of America Donald Trump for his approach towards Indians. He said Indians in America are living in fear because of Mr Trump’s policies.
He said Americans have become jealous of Indians. He observed that no society can develop with growing unrest. Mr Naidu has said there is no space for rowdyism and factionism in the state. He said he will not tolerate even his own party leaders if they break the law.
