Anantapur: PUBG addict, 15-year-old boy, hangs himself
ANANTAPUR: The online game PUBG reportedly claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy in Anantapur. B. Vasudev, 15, of Prabhakar street in Anantapur, committed suicide by hanging himself in an under-construction house late on Wednesday. The body was identified on Thursday morning.
Sources said that Vasudev dropped out of school in the 8th grade and started working as a mechanic at a garage, which he quit six months ago.
After quitting his job, Vasudev spent most of his time with his friends and on his cellphone. He got into PUBG and spent most of his time gaming on his mobile phone, sources from his family revealed. Parents tried to distract him from gaming and to persuade him to spend some time upgrading his skills as a mechanic but to no avail. When parents expressed their anger at his behaviour, he left the house on Wednesday evening and did not return home until that night. On Thursday, people in the vicinity noticed Vasudev's body and alerted his parents and the police.
Inspector Yugandhar and his team rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post mortem. The police has registered a case based on the complaint filed by Vasudev’s parents. It may be noted that many students are getting increasingly addicted to online games. Recently, even Google banned the TikTok APP from its Playstore following court orders.
