ADILABAD: A team of mechanical engineers from Hyderabad on Monday came to Kadem and inspected the project to assess the damage caused to the gates and bund by the heavy floods and inflows into the project a few days ago.
Along with Nirmal collector Musharaff Faruqui Ali, the mechanical engineers’ team inspected the gates that were damaged due to heavy inflows.
The irrigation officials who were unable to down the gates were forced to discharge the floodwater downstream and it is going on for the last four days without any break and flood water is being wasted.
Efforts are being made to repair the damaged gates and remove the wooden logs and branches of trees that were stuck in the gears of the gates after washing their way into the project.
