Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, speaking at the Vijayabheri Bus Yatra launch on Wednesday, said that the Gandhi family came to the state to liberate Telangana from the “evil clutches” of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family members.
“Sonia Gandhi came to Hyderabad last month on September 17 and announced six guarantees to the people of Telangana. Today, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi came to Mulugu to launch the Congress’ bus yatra,” Revanth said in Mulugu.
“Sonia fulfilled her promise of granting statehood to Telangana that was made in Karimnagar in 2004. But Telangana people's aspirations are not yet fulfilled even after nine years due to misrule of BRS government. That is why the Congress has decided to implement six guarantees and fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana,” he said.
Revanth said that the BRS government had done injustice to tribals and urged the people to liberate Telangana from “Rao and his family”, adding that it was only the Congress that fulfilled the six-decade-long dream of achieving statehood.
Accusing Rao of crushing the hopes and dreams of statehood martyrs and unemployed youths, he said: “Many students and youth made sacrifices and achieved Telangana. Corruption and anarchy were rampant everywhere in the state. KCR is involved in corruption of lakhs of crore and this corrupt government should be trampled to the ground.”
Besides six guarantees, Revanth announced that the Congress has decided to give Rs 1 lakh under the Kalyana Lakshmi schemes, besides 10 grams of gold to brides.
Revanth Reddy appealed to the people to vote for the Congress for a return of “Indiramma Rajyam”, calling on voters to ensure 50,000 vote majorities for Seethakka in Mulugu and Gandra Satyanarayana Rao in Bhupalpally.
