Konda Surekha falls off bike, suffers minor injuries
WARANGAL: Former minister Konda Surekha was injured in a mishap while she was participating in the bike rally as part of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Thursday.
Surekha had participated in the Vijaybheri bus yatra in Mulugu district on Wednesday and followed this up with the bike rally in Bhupalpally.
The bike rally to welcome Rahul Gandhi was held under the leadership of the party’s Bhupalpally MLA candidate Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, from Genco guest house to Bambulagadda in Chelpur village.
Congress activists said Surekha took a two-wheeler from a Congress activist and was riding it along with him. The accident occurred when motorbikes going in the front stopped suddenly, startling Surekha who fell on the road when her skidded skidded. She received injuries to her head and hand.
Congress activists took Surekha to a hospital and later shifted her to a private hospital in Hanamkonda. Surkha’s husband, former MLC Konda Muralidhar, rushed to the hospital.
