BRS MPTCs to move no-confidence motion against MPPs in Warangal and Karimnagar
Karimnagar: After the BRS councillors went against their chairmen in several municipalities, now the MPTC members are gearing up to move a no-confidence motion against Mandal Parishad Presidents (MPPs) of BRS in various mandals in the erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar district.
Though the BRS retained the Station Ghanpur seat in the recent Assembly polls, the MPTC members of Station Ghanpur mandal held a meeting and decided to move a no-confidence motion against MPP Kandula Rekha of their party. Of the 15 members, the BRS won 11, Congress won three and one seat for the CPM. Six BRS members joined hands with the Congress members and submitted their representation to RDO Vasam Ramurthy who assured them of conducting a meeting within 15 days on the motion.
In Velgatoor mandal of Jagtial district, of the total 15 members, around ten (five from BRS and five from Congress) decided to go against MPP Konamalla Lakshmi of the BRS citing lack of development during the BRS rule and submitted a representation to the RDO in Jagtial to elect a Congress MPTC member as the MPP.
Meanwhile, in Sircilla constituency represented by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Thangallapalli ZPTC member Manjula and her husband and BRS senior leader who is the president of District Cricket Association Ramalinga Reddy submitted their resignation to BRS party to party district president Thota Agaiah.
The couple alleged that even though they had been working hard for the party for the past 20 years, they had not got recognition from party leadership.
In Hanamkonda, former corporator and BRS senior leader Velpula Mohan Rao quit the party and joined Congress in the presence of Warangal West MLA Naini Rajendar Reddy.
CHANGING OF GUARD
- Station Ghanpur MPTC members, including 11 from BRS decided to move a no-confidence motion against BRS MPP Kandula Rekha.
- In Velgatoor too, 10 of 15 including 5 BRS members firm to dethrone MPP Konamalla Lakshmi of BRS citing lack of development.
- Thangallapalli ZPTC member Manjula and her husband resigned from BRS in Sircilla due to lack of recognition in the party.
- Ex-corporator Velpula Mohan Rao of Hanumakonda quit BRS to join Congress in the presence of MLA Naini Rajendar Reddy.
