Budget 2019-20: KCR shocks all, keeps finance, key portfolios
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has retained major portfolios like finance, revenue, commercial taxes, irrigation, power, IT and industries, and will present the vote-on-account Budget for 2019-20 on February 22. Mr Rao will also retain all ministries not allotted to other ministers.
He shocked former finance minister Etala Rajendar by allotting him medical and health portfolio. Mr Rajendar was expecting to retain the finance portfolio. The important legislative affairs portfolio has been given to first-time minister Vemula Prashant Reddy. Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy was allotted endowments, law and forest departments. In the previous Cabinet he was allotted endowments and law and now he was given forest department too. Minister G. Jagadish Reddy was allotted education department and in the previous cabinet he was allotted power department.
Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav was allotted animal husbandry, the same he had been allotted in the previous Cabinet. The first-time ministers were allotted important portfolios.
Minister V. Srinivasa Goud got excise, Mr Errabelli Dayakar Rao got panchayat raj and rural development, Mr Singireddy Niranjan Reddy got agriculture, marketing and cooperation, Mr Vemula Prashant Reddy got legislative affairs, transport, roads & buildings and housing, Mr Koppula Eswar was allotted all welfare departments and Mr Ch. Malla Reddy was given labour and employment.
