Kochi: Justice (Retd) P. Sathasivam has approved the selection committee's recommendation to appoint Dr. Rajasree M.S., as vice-chancellor, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University of Kerala. The ap-pointment, for a period of four years from the date on which she assumes office, is as per section 13(2) of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological Uni-versity Act of 2015. Dr. Rajasree is currently, Principal, Govt. Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram, since May 2, 2017.
Dr. V.K. Ramachandran, Vice Chairman, Kerala State Planning Board, Tom Jose, Chief Secreta-ry and Prof. K.K. Agarw-al, former VC, Indraprast-ha University, New Delhi were the members of the selection committee.
Dr Rajasree is Professor in Computer Science and Engineering and has ser-ved in government engineering colleges under the State Technical Educ-ation Department for the past 24 years as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Prof-essor and Principal. Befo-re joining the college, she was the Director of Indi-an Institute of Informat-ion Technology Manage-ment Kerala –IIITMK.
She has been serving the academic community for 26 years in teaching, research and taking leadership roles in academic activities such as introduction of new courses at PG level, curriculum des-ign and conduct of university exam. Her resea-rch interests include Dist-ributed and Object Orien-ted Software Engineeri-ng, Cloud Computing and Pattern recognition.
