AICC leaders jump in to resolve internal TPCC rift
Hyderabad: A day after Congress MPs from erstwhile Nalgonda district claimed that a ‘Nirudhyoga Sabha’ meeting, to protest against the TSPSC paper leaks, was scheduled on April 21 without their knowledge “unilaterally by A. Revanth Reddy”, causing much embarrassment to the party, the AICC jumped in to resolve the conflict.
The central leadership resolved the issue on Thursday, stating that the meetings would begin from Khammam, on April 24, and the Nalgonda edition will be held on April 28, instead of April 21.
Party sources said that AICC secretary Nadeem Javed spoke to TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy earlier in the day, following which he called on MPs N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to put aside their internal disputes for the party’s larger interests.
Sources said that Javed also urged the two MPs to closely coordinate on the issue as 30 lakh youths have been affected by the TSPSC question paper leaks. Further, the two MPs were also urged to avoid irresponsible behaviour that could dent the party’s prospects in the polls and confuse the cadre.
Later in the day, PCC working president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the Khammam meeting would be followed by one in Adilabad, on April 26, then Nalgonda, followed by Mahbubnagar, on April 30, and Ranga Reddy, on May 1.
“In consultation with Manikrao Thakre (incharge AICC), Revanth Reddy approved these unemployed youth rallies and public meetings. These are in connection with the biggest scam in TSPSC where lives of 30 lakh unemployed youth are affected,” he said.
Two days ago, when Revanth Reddy announced that the first meeting would be held at the Nalgonda district headquarters, both the Congress MPs objected, terming it a unilateral decision taken without their knowledge.
