Andhra Pradesh capital foundation on September 30
Vijayawada: The Government is getting ready to celebrate for another grand event of laying foundation stone for Administrative City for Dasara. Amaravati Development Corporation is planning to complete the government complexes construction by March 31, 2019. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had interacted with ADC and CRDA officials during which the officials had submitted their planning and progress of the infrastructure projects for Amaravati.
The ADC had given power-point presentation on Sakhamuru tourism attractions for which the Chief Minister suggested a night safari without disturbing the wildlife. CRDA officials informed the Chief Minister that Fosters and Partners, the firm responsible for the planning and building of most of Amaravati, will submit the final blueprints for the Assembly building by August 15, and the High Court by the end of August.
It has been decided that September 30 on Vijayadasami will be the day to set the foundation stone. The Regional Park is designed for people from all walks of life as it includes activities for children and family outings, nature lovers, the health-conscious, the culturally rooted and intellectually inclined. It will include entertainment spots, carnivals and spaces for events, gatherings and more. The Chief Minister also discussed about route from bus and railway stations to the Kanakadurga temple to get a complete makeover, the path for pilgrims must be green and convenient, said Mr Naidu.
They proposed a new infrastructure project for the area in and around Rajiv Gandhi Park to be transformed into a special, highly-connected green zone. This project is expected to connect Kanakadurga temple, the railway station, the bus stand, Prakasam Barrage and seamlessly connect these areas to the three canals. The ADC team proposed a grandiose plan including a transport system with pod taxis.
They proposed a green route with walkways, public seating areas, an amphitheatre, plazas for a craft market along the lengths of the canals. The plan also contains jetty stations and many design plans for greenery in the vicinity of the walking trails. The waterfronts are going to be designed with panache, as ADC presented animations of the proposed idea to rejuvenate the canal front. The plan also includes retail malls, hotels, convention centres and high-street areas. The Chief Minister asked the ADC and others to come with extensive research and the implementation of some his suggestions.
