No-Confidence Motion: Telangana Rashtra Samithi stand still a mystery
Hyderabad: TRS MPs on Thursday met in Delhi to discuss the strategy to be adopted in the House when the Lok Sabha takes up the no confidence motion against NDA government on Friday. However, the MPs remained tightlipped after the meeting, saying that their strategy would be in accordance with the developments on the crucial day.
The MPs said the party president and Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, had directed them to take up pending bifurcation issues that had been promised to Telangana state in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 but not fulfilled so far. TRS deputy floor leader in the Lok Sabha, B.Vinod Kumar, said “We will take up the issue of Bayyaram steel plant, Kazipet railway coach factory, tribal university etc. that were assured to TS in the bifurcation Act but not fulfilled so far. We do not think the no confidence motion will go to the extent of voting. It may only be debated. If voting happens, then we will decide accordingly.”
However, Vinod Kumar refused to comment on whether TRS would vote for or against the NCM. “The voting issue did not come up for discussion in the meeting. We will decide what to do on the directions of our party president, KCR garu.” he added. But sources revealed that TRS MPs may stage a walkout and abstain from voting after the debate to protest the non-fulfillment of promises made to TS in bifurcation Act.
