TTD warns against spreading false information on animal attacks
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has warned miscreants against spreading false information related to recent animal attacks at Tirumala. The temple trust expressed deep concerns over the unnecessary fear and panic that such false propaganda is creating among pilgrims visiting Tirumala.
In an official statement, the TTD said, “In the wake of a tragic incident where a six-year-old girl lost her life in a leopard attack near Tirumala about a week ago, the forest department, in collaboration with TTD, has successfully captured two leopards thus far. In an effort to enhance safety measures, the TTD has taken decisive steps. Over 300 CCTV cameras have been strategically placed to monitor the movements of wild animals along the Alipiri pedestrian route”.
“Simultaneously, the forest department has taken action by installing camera traps and cages along the footpath route to swiftly apprehend any wild animals that may come too close to the path. The joint effort by the TTD and the forest department aims to ensure the safety of pilgrims and prevent any further untoward incidents involving wildlife”, the TTD added.
The TTD also recalled that stringent restrictions have been imposed along the twin ghat roads and pedestrian pathways to curtail the likelihood of future leopard attacks. These measures are part of a proactive strategy to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents and to provide a safe and secure environment for all visitors to the holy site, the TTD claimed.
The temple trust has urged the public to rely on accurate and verified information from the temple body. It warned the miscreants to refrain from spreading unverified reports that may incite unnecessary panic.
